How a Dehumidifier Works

1. Air is drawn into the unit by a fan
2. Air passes over a cold surface
3. As the air is cooled, it’s moisture condenses
4. Water falls into the container
5. Air is re-heated by the heat recovery system
6. Air passes back into room 2°C warmer and considerably dryer
7. Defrost system automatically de-ices unit as necessary
8. Unit switches off automatically when container is full
9. When the unit achieves the selected level of dryness it switches off automatically

Application

The EIPL FreeStar commercial / industrial dehumidifier was designed to provide energy efficient humidity control in a wide range of applications, including offices, laboratories, storage areas, restaurants, bars, museums, locker rooms, computer telecommunication rooms and basements. It is aquiet, high efficiency, high capacity unit designed to suite your HVAC needs.

Proven Performance

Because of EIPL’s unique “Reverse Cycle” defrosting feature, the FreeStar will function smoothly in temperatures down to 33°F without frost build-up. The temperature sensitive defrost control ensures optional performance across all conditions. The FreeStar incorporates an “Air To Air” Heat Exchange which provides a secondary level of pre-cooling and drying. The high capacity backward curved fan will maximize air delivery over long distances. Whenever there is aneed for fast, dependable, energy-efficient drying, EIPL can provide the answer. The high efficiency Rotary compressor ensures the maximum extraction with the lowest running costs.

The Problem

Excess humidity in your crawl space, warehouse, office, factory or shop results in corrosion, mold growth and rotting. Enormous costs are incurred every year through damage to inventory and through inflated building maintenance costs as a result of dampness. Even if your building seems dry during the day, at night when the temperature falls the humidity rises and the condensation process begins. The compact physical size, and high performance, makes the FreeStar the ideal choice.

The Dehumidifier

EIPL dehumidifiers are effective solutions to environmental control problems. The FreeStar range of units are high capacity dehumidifiers, made to operate at high efficiencies by removing moisture from the air through the refrigeration process. The fan draws the moist air through the cold evaporator coil, which cools the air below its dew point. Moisture forms on the evaporator coil and is collected in the condensate tray, which is equipped withan internal condensate pump for easy removal of collected moisture. The cooled air then passes through the hot condenser coil where it is reheated using the same energy removed during the cooling phase, plus the additional heat generated by the compressor. The air is, therefore, discharged from the dehumidifier at a slightly higher temperature with a lower absolute humidity than that which entered. Continuous circulation of air through the dehumidifier gradually reduces the relative humidity within the area. Because the FreeStar range of units are equipped with an internal humidistat, they automatically switch on and off to save energy and expense by maintaining the desired level of humidity with intermittent operation.
